A love story that builds from warmth to passion I liked how Ms Rochenski wove in the social s of the times in Cara's situation and how one poor choice could and did place a woman in a precarious position Great characterization and good setting descriptions A thoroughly enjoyable read

Alone No More started out sweet and then became amazing It was just what I needed I sympathized with Cara Her gentleness and youth made it impossible not to like her and feel sorry for her situation She was written so believably well that I could’ve sworn her thoughts and emotions were my own As soon as James Elliot made his appearance I dare say I was taken by him instantly And I don’t think I’ll ever be able to smell the scent of cloves in the same way again ;I loved the confrontation between Cara’s stalker and James The growing tension for what Mr Collins would try next kept me glued to my seat My jaw literally dropped once my heart breaking for Cara And I was biting my nails during the climaxAlone No More is a great read full of emotion real to life suspense and old fashioned romance I didn’t hesitate to give it 5 stars and it became a favorite before I even finished reading Highly recommended Ladies you have to read this one

Sometimes you just want a pleasant little love story No great crusades no earth shattering conflicts no monumental battles just a mistreated maidservant yearning for a better life and a kind hearted farmer with an unhappy past who may be her answerThe story is short and sweet with some lovely descriptions of the English moors In less than an hour you'll discover if they achieve their happily every after

I'm not usually a fan of first person narrative or of old fashioned style speech but this just worked A lovely story fitting for the time I was taken on the journey with her willing the girl to get her man

Good story uick and yet has a lot of heart in the novella I most found intriguing the look into how difficult it was to be a woman in this time in history Cara is forced to become a scullery made due to a rich landowner stalking her Her family's solution is to send her away because they can't afford to tick off the town's landowner Lonely and isolated Cara has an affair with a married man and get's pregnant for which she is fired from her job Sent back home in shame she is at the mercy of her parents who later send her away again for behavior they think is inappropriate even though she was the victim of the terrible stalker again It ends happy with the man she loves finding her again and accepting her baby but if she didn't have the decent aunt to go to or the man who came after her she would have been tossed out alone and pregnant with no prospects Really interesting read
